About the role#
Student Managers support the programming and tutoring services at the Center for Teaching and Learning. This leadership position involves mentoring student employees and guiding them through academic support programs. You will work with full-time staff to maintain program integrity and handle day-to-day operations.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate CTL programs and services within your specific content area.
- Mentor student employees and model professional expectations.
- Act as a peer tutor to demonstrate best practices.
- Plan and co-facilitate weekly training sessions for student staff.
- Represent the CTL through presentations to student groups, classes, and organizations.
- Conduct outreach to the university community.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours at the University of New Mexico.
- A minimum of one full semester of experience working at a STEM learning center.
- Availability to work 15 to 25 hours per week.
- Ability to attend Friday trainings from 3 pm to 5 pm.
- For the Math position: completion of Calculus 3.
- For the Chemistry-Biology position: completion of Organic Chemistry II and experience with Biology.
