Student PRN Opportunities - Housekeeping

About the role#

This position is open to 16- and 17-year-old students seeking work during the summer and school breaks. You will support a patient-centered environment by maintaining facility cleanliness and ensuring essential supplies are stocked. This is a PRN (as-needed) role that requires accountability, teamwork, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

What you'll do#

• Perform cleaning procedures across various facility spaces, including patient rooms, labs, offices, and public areas, according to established quality standards.
• Follow all hospital and department policies regarding Infection Prevention and Control, Human Resources, and safety.
• Deliver clean linen and stock linen carts to established par levels.
• Remove soiled linen and trash, transporting them to designated storage or disposal areas.
• Maintain housekeeping carts and closets in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment safely, reporting any repairs needed to a supervisor.
• Participate in team meetings and in-service training.

What you'll need#

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 1 or more years of relevant experience.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using units such as cup, pint, quart, ounce, inch, foot, and yard.
• Ability to follow directions and provide dependable service.
