About the role#
The Administrative Fellowship at NorthBay Health is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world healthcare environment. Fellows are assigned to a specific business unit for the duration of the program, moving from a project participant role to an accountable program owner. You will interact with staff, physicians, and organizational leaders while supporting strategic initiatives related to operations, compliance, and regulatory standards.
What you'll do#
- Lead enterprise-level initiatives linked to system priorities.
- Take ownership of projects and maintain accountability for measurable outcomes.
- Participate in or chair committees, task forces, and steering groups.
- Build and share operational dashboards or leadership performance scorecards.
- Partner with senior leaders and present at leadership meetings.
- Contribute to strategic planning and financial reviews.
- Lead work groups and interdisciplinary teams.
- Mentor administrative residents and early-career staff.
- Deliver multiple projects, including a final Capstone project assigned by an executive vice president.
What you'll need#
- A Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, completed before the fellowship start date.
- Completion of a minimum one-year residency program in an acute care hospital within the past 2 years.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of creating solutions to complex problems.
- Previous healthcare industry or leadership experience is preferred.
