About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience by assisting with the daily operations of our finance team. You will gain exposure to accounts payable, general accounting, and other finance tasks. We offer a flexible schedule to accommodate your class times, exams, and homework.
What you'll do#
- Upload journal entries and verify that supporting documentation is appropriate.
- Prepare reconciliations for trial balance accounts and follow up on reconciling items.
- Assist with the review of expense reports and ensure documentation is complete.
- Help with audit preparation and pull support for various filings.
- Trace transactions through the general ledger to sub systems.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly finance reports and files.
- Support the accounts payable team with invoicing, supplier statements, and OCR system reviews.
- Organize and maintain financial filing systems.
- Maintain a tracker to ensure accountability for your work.
- Learn to navigate the general ledger system.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a healthcare-related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships with others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A high degree of accountability, honesty, and integrity.
- Effective time management skills.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
- The role is on-site and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- We are looking for candidates available during the Spring and Fall semesters or Summer break.
- Shifts occur Monday through Friday during the day.
