    About the role#

    As a Robotics Engineering Intern, you will work on the development of autonomous Toro turf equipment. This role provides hands-on experience with both physical machinery and the software systems that enable autonomous operation. You will join a multidisciplinary team to design, test, and improve autonomous capabilities including navigation, perception, and machine control.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop, debug, and test software for autonomous robotic platforms.
    • Design and implement robotic subsystems for localization, path planning, and sensor fusion.
    • Improve automation tools, development pipelines, and testing processes.
    • Create and maintain remote diagnostics, monitoring tools, and engineering utilities.
    • Collaborate with software, systems, electronics, and mechanical engineers to optimize machine performance.
    • Support the integration and validation of new autonomous features on prototype and production hardware.
    • Participate in field testing, data collection, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
    • Document designs, test results, and technical findings.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an educational program during the internship.
    • Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar engineering focus.
    • Completed junior-level courses are preferred.
    • A desire to learn, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
    • Ability to stay organized and work independently.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027).
    • Modality: On-site, full-time.
    • Compensation: Paid position ($22-$28 per hour).
    • Note: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
