About the role#
As a Robotics Engineering Intern, you will work on the development of autonomous Toro turf equipment. This role provides hands-on experience with both physical machinery and the software systems that enable autonomous operation. You will join a multidisciplinary team to design, test, and improve autonomous capabilities including navigation, perception, and machine control.
What you'll do#
- Develop, debug, and test software for autonomous robotic platforms.
- Design and implement robotic subsystems for localization, path planning, and sensor fusion.
- Improve automation tools, development pipelines, and testing processes.
- Create and maintain remote diagnostics, monitoring tools, and engineering utilities.
- Collaborate with software, systems, electronics, and mechanical engineers to optimize machine performance.
- Support the integration and validation of new autonomous features on prototype and production hardware.
- Participate in field testing, data collection, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
- Document designs, test results, and technical findings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an educational program during the internship.
- Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar engineering focus.
- Completed junior-level courses are preferred.
- A desire to learn, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to stay organized and work independently.

- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: Paid position ($22-$28 per hour).
