About the role#
As a Track and Field Operations Intern at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, you will assist the Director of Operations with daily administrative and operational tasks. This role provides experience in sports management through both operational execution and project work. You will gain exposure to how a large sports facility runs while supporting our team during practices, competitions, and special events.
What you'll do#
- Prepare the venue for practices and competitions.
- Coordinate with the meet manager and officials during events.
- Manage the inventory of all track and field equipment.
- Lead the Kids Fun Run Series and Community Running Series.
- Assist with special events and additional projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate in business administration, finance, sport management, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills in both written and oral formats.
- Ability to work well in a team or independently.
- Experience with multi-tasking and organizing multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated approach with the initiative to finish tasks on time.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and work outside for extended periods.
- A strong desire to learn.
