About the role#
The Spectator is looking for an intern to join our New York team. This role focuses on social media and digital content, supporting our editorial operations as we grow our American presence. You will work on a variety of tasks ranging from video editing to event support.
What you'll do#
- Edit short-form video clips for Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube.
- Create social media assets using Photoshop and existing templates.
- Manage the day-to-day content flow across social channels.
- Identify strong quotes and moments from our shows that perform well online.
- Promote articles, newsletters, and other editorial projects.
- Assist with events at our New York office, including guest preparation and promotion.
- Provide editorial assistance and research.
- Pitch new social content ideas and help keep creative files organized.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in media, journalism, politics, culture, and current affairs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro or equivalent video-editing software.
- An understanding of major social media platforms and content performance.
- Ability to write clean, concise copy for social media.
- You are organized, reliable, and comfortable multitasking.
- Majors in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, English, or Marketing are preferred.

- Location: New York, New York, United States.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17 per hour.
- Benefits: Paid Time Off including vacation, sick leave, and public holidays.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
