About the role#
The Internal Audit team functions independently to evaluate and improve governance, risk management, and control processes. As an intern, you will join this team to support audit engagements and validation work. You will work alongside engagement leads and supervisors to execute tasks related to audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting. Your work will primarily focus on areas such as Financial Risk Management and Model Risk Management.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of audit engagement planning and fieldwork testing.
- Review and document support provided by the business.
- Participate in internal and client meetings.
- Coordinate with supervisors on assigned engagements.
- Execute tasks including planning deliverables and control testing.
- Document process walkthroughs, control design, and operating effectiveness procedures.
- Document findings or enhancements resulting from your procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a college or university as a rising senior or second-year graduate student.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or May/August 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion.
- Willingness to take on undefined tasks and propose solutions.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- This position follows a hybrid work model, which requires working from the office at least 3 days per week.
