About the role#
The Nuclear Company is building the software that enables the construction of nuclear power plants. You will join the Platform Integration and AI/Data squad to build the AI tools that support our reactor projects. This is a six-month, full-time internship where you will work alongside engineers and nuclear domain experts to ship production-ready models and features.
What you'll do#
- Ship ML and AI features into the Nuclear Operating System (NOS) applications used for site evaluation, scheduling, and project management.
- Build AI agents and workflows that interact with NOS data and internal tools.
- Develop data pipelines and integrations across platforms like Palantir Foundry and AWS GovCloud.
- Create predictive and anomaly-detection models to support engineering and operational decisions.
- Manage model quality by defining evaluation criteria, building regression suites, and troubleshooting performance issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS program for Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with modern ML and LLM tools such as PyTorch or Hugging Face.
- A history of shipping working software or ML projects.
- U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) is required due to export control regulations.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Washington, DC.
- The position requires working on-site five days a week.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term (August to December).
- The company does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
