About the role#
As an Employee Benefits Advocacy Intern, you will join the team at The MJ Companies to gain professional experience in the financial services industry. This role provides exposure to the inner workings of the Employee Benefits department through hands-on projects and team collaboration. You will work full-time during the summer of 2026.
What you'll do#
- Learn how Client Executives, Client Managers, and Client Advocates collaborate.
- Understand the client lifecycle for both Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty.
- Attend team meetings, department sessions, and trainings.
- Observe the Client Executive role and the delivery of strategic recommendations during client meetings.
- Spend time with the Analytics, Population Health & Wellness, and Communications & Engagement teams.
- Complete at least one main project and assist with daily department tasks.
- Present a capstone project at the end of the internship.
- Network with insurance professionals through team events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Human Resources, Health/Wellness, Risk Management & Insurance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- A detail-oriented approach and a focus on customer service.
- A willingness to learn and contribute to a team environment.

- Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Dates: May to August 2026.
- This is a paid internship.
