About the role#
The LPX Group Co-Op Program offers students full-semester work experience across construction field and office operations. You will contribute to active projects while developing technical and professional skills through structured assignments, mentorship, and training. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Louisville, Kentucky.
What you'll do#
- Perform departmental, office, field, plant, or project assignments.
- Support work in estimating, construction engineering, project management, safety, marketing, finance, or Team Member Services.
- Assist team members with project coordination, research, schedules, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in cohort orientation, safety training, and professional development workshops.
- Follow company policies, safety requirements, and jobsite procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and progress updates.
- Engage in the LPX Community Build Day and other cohort activities.
- Work with an assigned mentor and supervisor.
- Participate in mid-rotation feedback and performance discussions.
- Prepare and deliver an end-of-rotation Leadership Briefing.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at an accredited university with a formal co-op program that awards academic credit.
- University willingness to designate LPX Group as the co-op employer of record.
- Availability for a full semester rotation of 15 to 18 weeks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to work at jobsites or in field conditions.
- Pursuit of a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Engineering Technology.
- Prior experience in construction, engineering, projects, or leadership roles.
- General understanding of heavy civil construction.
- Interest in completing multiple rotations.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong work ethic and initiative.
- Ability to manage assignments, meet deadlines, and complete documentation.
- Willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and apply learning.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and professional values.
