About the role#
As a Data Engineer Intern, you will build and support the systems that turn raw information into reliable data assets. You will work on the pipelines, platforms, and processes that enable analytics, reporting, and AI-driven insights. This role is part of a summer program designed to provide hands-on experience within the insurance industry, focusing on how data engineering supports business decisions and emerging technologies.
What you'll do#
- Build and support data pipelines that ingest, transform, and prepare data for business use.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to support analytics and AI solutions.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance through profiling, validation, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions that address business needs.
- Apply data engineering tools and techniques to develop reliable data assets.
What you'll need#
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Curiosity and a willingness to explore new technologies and challenge assumptions.
- Experience with Python, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Exposure to ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data transformation processes.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Enrollment in a degree program such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
