About the role#
The SPD Support Specialist acts as the primary contact and escalation point for the Special Projects Department. You will provide technical support for hardware, systems, and applications via phone, email, and live chat. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues and documenting all interactions within the ServiceNow system. You will work under general supervision to resolve technical problems while maintaining productive relationships with customers and internal team members.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support for Division software, programs, and sub-system applications.
- Troubleshoot application issues for remote employees on a corporate network.
- Offer alternative solutions to customers when appropriate.
- Escalate complex problems to other specialists when necessary.
- Manage support projects to implement new technologies and meet established service level agreements.
- Document and organize knowledge base articles to improve support efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Associate degree or technical institute certificate in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of previous computer technical support or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, network troubleshooting, VPN software, and Church facilities technology.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting all Windows operating systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in verbal and written forms.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with Forma, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Sprocket, and Office 365 apps is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Interns must be enrolled in an educational institution or have graduated within the last year.
- Candidates must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
- Only members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend qualify for employment.
