About the role#
This internship provides a practical setting for students to apply educational principles to real work tasks. You will work under general supervision to gain experience in development counseling services.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care under close supervision.
- Consult with Church leaders and maintain a positive rapport.
- Keep accurate, updated notes in the data collection system.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct.
- Knowledge of legal issues within the profession.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and ecclesiastical leaders.
- Ability to develop and follow through with an individual training plan.
- Ability to provide service within gospel standards and values.
- Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
