About the role#
We are hiring student workers at North Carolina Central University to support our food service and catering operations. This role is open to students across various majors including Business Administration, Engineering, Communications, Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, and Kinesiology. You will work on-site in a paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations like prep tables and service counters.
- Store food items according to safety standards.
- Serve food to customers and anticipate their needs.
- Replenish food stock and maintain a positive demeanor.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
What you'll need#
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to obtain a food safety certification.
- Prior food service experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
