About the role#
This paid, part-time internship offers practical experience in historical research and data management within the Family History Department. The role focuses on research projects involving European records from the early 1900s and United States records prior to the 1850s. Interns work under supervision to bridge academic learning with professional tasks.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data and examine sensitive records.
- Complete research assignments provided by management.
- Learn and utilize new FamilySearch products quickly.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines.
- Follow detailed instructions while maintaining a positive team culture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in, or graduation within the last year from, a degree program in Family History, History, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, or Political Science.
- Proven experience in data analysis and genealogical research beyond academic requirements.
- A thorough understanding of both original and derivative sources.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

- Location: Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Modality: Hybrid, with a mix of remote work and time at the Family History Library.
- Schedule: Part-time with rolling start dates.
