About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to apply principles learned in school to an actual work setting within the Publishing Services Department. You will work under general supervision to complete assignments while gaining experience in a professional environment. This is a paid position for students or recent graduates.
What you'll do#
You will work with the team supervisor to copyedit and proofread a wide range of materials. Projects include booklets, manuals, curricula, flyers, posters, brochures, policy forms, and presentations. You will collaborate with writers, project managers, and employees across different departments. The role requires you to take direction, work in harmony with others, and meet rigid, challenging deadlines.
What you'll need#
You must be currently enrolled as a full-time student or have finished a degree within the last year. We prefer candidates with an editing major or minor. You need at least four semesters of college-level editing or writing experience outside of the classroom. You must possess proficient revising and proofreading skills along with a strong background in copyediting. A sound understanding of Church doctrine, history, organization, and policy is required. You must hold a current temple recommend and be available for video and in-person interviews. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, sustain concentration, and maintain the highest level of accuracy.
Location & details#
This is a hybrid position based in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will work up to 30 hours per week, with one day in the office on Mondays and four days working remotely.
