About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how Buckle operates while gaining hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and operations. This role is designed for students interested in a long-term commitment with the company.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering, merchandise display, and facility maintenance.
- Complete core training modules including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics through the company Performance Tracker.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete assigned special projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- A desire for a long-term commitment with the company.
