    About the role#

    This internship provides practical engineering experience within the AES Ohio Substation Engineering team. You will work on projects related to the design of electrical substations during the Summer 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Work alongside staff engineers to help design parts of 12kV through 345kV substations.
    • Create physical layouts, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
    • Assist in producing detailed engineering design packages that meet AES Ohio and industry standards like IEEE and NERC.
    • Complete additional assignments as determined by your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a four-year degree program for Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
    • Academic standing of Sophomore or higher is preferred.
    • Strong academic background, organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience with CAD software is preferred.

    • Modality: This is an on-site, full-time, paid position.
