About the role#
As an Engineering Co-op, you will work with experienced engineers and business professionals. You will support projects focused on the planning, operation, and modernization of the electric grid. This role offers hands-on experience and the chance to build your professional network while contributing to the energy transition.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers on electric infrastructure projects.
- Develop solutions to gather, store, and use electrical asset data.
- Create and maintain electrical models using PSSE and CYME software.
- Write scope of work documents, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Build project business cases using financial modeling tools.
- Validate financial data for the annual budget review.
- Manage budgets for assigned transmission and distribution investment programs.
- Use Management of Change and Asset Governance processes.
- Participate in root cause analyses for equipment failures.
- Support the development and updates of Asset Life Cycle Plans.
- Perform field research at substations to verify electric facilities.
- Participate in learning opportunities and network with peers and leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Electrical Engineering or a related major.
- Interest in supporting electric infrastructure projects.
- Interest in electric grid planning, operation, and modernization.
- Ability to work in an Agile, collaborative environment.
- Willingness to attend site visits to substations.
