About the role#
The Aerospace Corporation is hiring Machine Learning Engineering Graduate Interns for the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department. You will work on teams that research, prototype, and build data-enabled tools for space enterprise challenges. This role requires full-time, on-site work at our facilities in El Segundo, California, Colorado Springs, Colorado, or Chantilly, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Develop and execute machine learning and data science experiments in fields such as natural language processing, computer vision, time series analysis, and reinforcement learning.
- Evaluate technologies and data science models for use in scalable, mission-critical applications.
- Collaborate with teams of various sizes to deliver features and products.
- Present written and verbal results to customer stakeholders.
- Reinforce an environment of learning and progress with team members.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled full-time in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree completed by the internship start date.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Availability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks outside of the university term, with the ability to return to your degree program afterward.
- Proficiency in Python, including libraries like PyTorch.
- Experience with container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of software engineering concepts with an AI focus, including MLOps, DevOps, and scalable ML architecture.
- Experience designing computer vision or natural language processing applications.
- Experience leveraging GPUs to scale and measure ML solution performance.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems, cloud-native development, and microservice architectures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
