About the role#
The Associate Director of Student Financial Counseling & Outreach serves as a key member of the management team within the Office of Student Financial Services. You will work closely with the Director to develop and implement policies, procedures, and communication plans that support university goals. This role involves providing daily leadership, mentoring, and coordination for the financial counseling and outreach team.
What you'll do#
- Provide personalized support to help students and families navigate financial aid application processes.
- Coordinate follow-up activities for new students, including FAFSA completion and document verification.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting student financial aid concerns.
- Perform outreach through calls, emails, and text campaigns to assist students with financial aid renewal and billing.
- Develop and implement events and outreach programming to engage students and ensure timely renewal of aid.
- Conduct workshops, including Financial Aid 101 and Financial Literacy training.
- Create and manage the policies and procedures manual for student outreach programs.
- Compose reports as needed and requested.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree.
- Seven years of related experience.
- Knowledge of higher education and student financial aid processes.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and problem-solving skills.
