About the role#
Join the Finance team as an intern to work on Insurance and energy accounting. You will assist with process development and execution while building practical skills in financial reporting and systems. This role requires a full-time commitment of at least 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles through organized work and issue escalation.
- Help document and test internal controls to ensure reliable financial reporting.
- Assist with accounting analyses, including multi-entity activity and GAAP to STAT adjustments.
- Reconcile and validate data across financial systems with guidance from the team.
- Contribute to process and system improvement projects by sharing feedback with IT and stakeholders.
- Explore ways to use AI and automation tools to handle manual, repetitive tasks.
- Collaborate with other teams on projects and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong Excel skills, specifically with lookups, pivot tables, and Power Query.
- Interest in data validation, analysis, and automating manual work.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and analytical mindset with clear communication skills.
- Curiosity about accounting, close processes, systems, operations, and flux analysis.
- Experience with information systems or SQL is a plus.
