About the role#
The Automated Diagnostics team builds tools to diagnose vehicle issues remotely. You will own the customer experience from the Tesla App interface through to automated service scheduling. The work involves creating self-service solutions and using AI to streamline how we address vehicle repairs.
What you'll do#
- Build capabilities for accurate remote vehicle diagnostics.
- Manage the full customer experience, from app entry to self-service solutions.
- Automate service appointments when a physical repair is required.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Python or Golang.
- Experience with API development and backend services.
- Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on experience with applied machine learning, including inference pipelines or model deployment.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong background in system observability, including logging, monitoring, and tracing.
- Ability to troubleshoot failures and improve code quality.
- Enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering academic program.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Spring 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
- Compensation: $50.48 to $58.89 per hour plus benefits.
