About the role#
As an intern, you will join our Manufacturing team to work on either equipment engineering or process engineering projects. You will take ownership of specific technologies or production methodologies to help us maintain high standards for safety, quality, and output. You will work alongside product design, operations, and quality teams to solve day-to-day problems and improve our manufacturing systems.
What you'll do#
- Design and own equipment to meet operational requirements, including creating drawings, specifications, and purchase requisitions.
- Analyze production data to optimize OEE, quality, yield, and capacity.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to new projects.
- Design and modify line layouts while establishing performance targets and KPIs.
- Use lean manufacturing tools like value stream mapping and 5S to reduce waste and improve flow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to qualify new processes and create work instructions.
- Develop FMEAs and Control Plans to ensure process control and ergonomic compliance.
- Define and oversee Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT) and work with vendors to resolve equipment issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with engineering projects or previous internships.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, and engineering materials.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage your own work effectively.
Location & details#
- Locations: Fremont, CA; Austin, TX; Buffalo, NY; Lathrop, CA; Sparks, NV.
- Term: Winter 2027 or Spring 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) on-site for at least 12 weeks.
- Compensation: $27.76 - $43.75 per hour plus benefits.
