About the role#
This is a part-time position for the Winter 2027 term, running from January through May. You will work up to 29 hours per week in an on-site capacity. The role provides exposure to standard security operations center tasks, including incident response, SIEM tool usage, and procedural documentation. You may also complete a project tailored to your skill set and the needs of the district.
What you'll do#
- Monitor logs and threat feeds.
- Remove and analyze malware and viruses.
- Monitor and remediate the phishing mailbox.
- Monitor incidents within the SIEM tool and build dashboards or reports.
- Assist with procedural documentation and audit preparation.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program for Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Less than one year of related experience.
- General computer literacy.
- A valid Texas driver's license.
