About the role#
The IT Help Desk Intern provides first-level technical support to end users at Appalachian Electric Cooperative. You will assist with hardware, software, and network issues while gaining hands-on experience in a professional IT environment. This position reports to the IT Helpdesk Supervisor.
What you'll do#
- Respond to helpdesk tickets, emails, and phone calls in a professional manner.
- Provide basic troubleshooting for computers, printers, and network connectivity.
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware.
- Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and assist with asset tracking.
- Document issues and escalate complex problems to the supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, pursuing a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
