About the role#
This position provides an opportunity to gain experience in corporate accounting at Tampa Electric. You will work with enterprise-wide accounting systems and assist in the financial operations of the company and its affiliates.
What you'll do#
- Process general ledger entries and create journal entries.
- Handle payment postings and create invoices.
- Perform cash clearing processes.
- Support financial and regulatory reporting tasks.
- Assist with audit requests and closeout procedures.
- Complete various ad hoc tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university.
- A major in Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of basic accounting principles like debits and credits.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Enrollment in a university co-op program or eligibility for an internship.
