About the role#
Tampa Electric is looking for a Corporate Accounting Student for the Winter 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience within a utility environment. You will work on-site in Tampa, Florida, supporting our finance and accounting teams through a part-time schedule of 20 to 30 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Execute corporate accounting activities and enterprise-wide accounting tasks.
- Focus on ERP accounting systems and general ledger processing.
- Create journal entries and manage cash clearing processes.
- Support financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Handle payment postings and the creation of invoices.
- Assist with audit requests and monthly closeout procedures.
- Manage ad hoc requests as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Current enrollment in a university co-op program (proof required).
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
- Previous experience with SAP is preferred but not required.
