About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in strategic engineering within the utilities industry. You will support the development of energy supply resources, regulatory strategy, and long-term planning. The role is based in Tampa, Florida, and is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Analyze energy supply resource additions, demand reductions, and alternatives to provide recommendations.
- Assist with reporting forecast data to regulatory bodies and affiliated companies.
- Help prepare exhibits, interrogatories, and testimony for regulatory proceedings.
- Support the development of Generation, Fuel, and Interchange and Ten-Year Site Plans.
- Gather and verify data from various internal departments.
- Evaluate long-term resource availability to assist in preparing the Strategic Plan.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Junior or Senior standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Teams.
- Proof of enrollment in a university co-op program is required for co-op applicants.
- Previous power industry experience is preferred.
