About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in project management and interior design within the Energy Supply Facilities team. You will support technical projects by handling data collection, design documentation, and building plan maintenance. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Collect data for mechanical and fire suppression equipment to enter into FM Systems.
- Update AutoCAD building shells and furniture layouts.
- Perform field verification to assist with project planning and scope creation.
- Review and update fire evacuation plans and fire suppression tracking.
- Create and implement design documents for furniture standards.
- Verify and upload historical building plans.
- Spend approximately 50 percent of your time in the field, including industrial environments and power stations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET accredited university as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
- A degree path in Interior Design, Construction Management, Project Management, or Facilities Services.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Enrollment in a university co-op program or eligibility for intern status.
- Ability to work at heights on raised walkways and traverse construction sites.
- A personal vehicle to travel to various company sites.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Tampa, Florida.
- Work is on-site with a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week.
- Typical working hours are Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
