About the role#
This internship at the Bayside Power Station offers students practical experience within a utility environment. You will learn the fundamentals of combined cycle power plant operations, including Brayton and Rankine cycles, while assisting with daily engineering tasks and equipment maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Support equipment owners by troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Perform regular equipment walk-downs and report findings.
- Update system drawings and documentation as part of the Management of Change process.
- Conduct flow studies on water systems using a doppler flow meter.
- Locate valves to verify proper tagging and coordinate the installation of new tags where needed.
- Assist with critical spares analysis for key plant systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited university as a sophomore, junior, or senior.
- A major in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Eligibility for a university co-op program or internship.
- Ability to work in industrial environments that may be hot, dusty, or noisy.
- Comfort working at heights on raised walkways.
