About the role#
Join the payroll team at Tampa Electric for a hands-on internship. You will gain experience with core payroll operations, HR data management, and enterprise systems like SAP. This role is for junior or senior students who want to apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment. You will work alongside payroll professionals on data accuracy, compliance, and employee support.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the payroll inbox and apply flags or assignments.
- Respond to basic payroll questions and requests from employees.
- Review Master Data against New Hire and Job Change Request forms.
- Support employment verification processes.
- Input quota data for new hires and assist with SLD updates.
- Participate in basic payroll audits and data integrity checks.
- Build foundational knowledge of SAP Payroll Modules and transaction codes.
- Participate in storm response and recovery activities as a condition of employment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university as a bachelor level degree seeking student.
- Junior or Senior year standing.
- Preferred discipline: Accounting, Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
- Attention to detail.
- General Accounting Knowledge (GAAP).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to pass a background check covering employment, criminal, and motor vehicle records.
