About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience working with Operations Specialists and Technicians in the field. You will gain practical knowledge regarding the installation, operation, and maintenance of gas and CO2 pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, and related process facilities. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Casper, Wyoming, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Operate and maintain equipment including pipelines, compressors, engines, turbines, motors, cooling systems, pumps, and dehydration units.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and assist in the diagnosis and repair of valves, seals, instruments, and other mechanical components.
- Support general facility upkeep and maintenance tasks.
- Learn about electrical, measurement, and control integrity, including the calibration and troubleshooting of control systems.
- Develop site-specific procedures, project scopes, and work plans.
- Participate in safety programs and maintain accurate documentation and records.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma.
- Active enrollment in or recent completion (within 3 months) of a technical or associate degree program in fields such as Mechanics, Energy, Construction, or Industrial Electricity.
- Experience using MS Office applications like Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Ability to perform basic repairs using special tools and equipment.
- A basic understanding of schematics, engineering drawings, and technical reports.
- Strong focus on safe work practices and the ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work outdoors, climb ladders, navigate elevated walkways, and carry up to 50 pounds.

- Compensation: $30.60 per hour, with potential for additional benefits including paid time off and a housing stipend.
