About the role#
This internship is part of the Actuarial Leadership Training program at Talcott Financial Group. You will work alongside industry professionals on business assignments designed to build your technical expertise and leadership skills. The program lasts ten weeks and concludes with a final presentation to the Chief Actuary and other members of the actuarial team.
What you'll do#
- Perform actuarial functions including pricing, valuation, financial reporting, and risk assessment.
- Support product lines such as variable, fixed, and fixed index annuities or life insurance.
- Participate in enrichment activities and social events to interact with the actuarial leadership team.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or a similar field.
- Entering your sophomore year or beyond with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
- Preference for students who have passed at least one SOA actuarial exam.
- Ability to learn technical software and coding skills including Excel, VBA, and R.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without visa sponsorship.

- Modality: Hybrid, with onsite work in Hartford on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
