About the role#
Join the Enterprise Data Architecture team to help shape how data is governed, structured, and prepared for AI. You will work alongside senior architects to contribute to the AI-Ready Data Factory. This role provides hands-on experience in modern data architecture, metadata management, and AI-enabled data platforms. This is an 8-month position for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the AI-Ready Data Factory by working on data acquisition, canonical modelling, metadata management, retrieval, and governed AI consumption.
- Support data architecture research, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
- Help define and improve reusable data architecture patterns, standards, and best practices.
- Support enterprise data architecture governance and review processes.
- Assist with the Enterprise Architecture process by coordinating and tracking architecture reviews.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders on AI-ready data initiatives.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing activities across the team.
What you'll need#
- You are an upper year undergraduate, Master's, or PhD student in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering.
- Your expected graduation date is August 2027 or later.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and an understanding of modern data architecture principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Preferred skills include Python, SQL, data modelling, Git, and API development. Knowledge of lakehouse platforms, AI, LLMs, and vector search is an asset.
- Bilingualism in French and English is required for the Montreal location.
