About the role#
The Health & Risk Solutions Stop Loss Underwriting team is seeking an intern to support the manual underwriting quoting process. You will join a team that serves as a direct provider of stop loss insurance in the United States. This position offers the chance to gain practical experience in risk assessment and pricing while working alongside experienced underwriters.
What you'll do#
- Verify customer information within the system to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and obtain missing information required for the assessment or pricing of risk.
- Input customer logistics to enable the generation of quotes.
- Analyze data related to industry, demographics, and other standard criteria.
- Evaluate, price, and propose rates and strategies on new Stop Loss business within established guidelines.
- Communicate pricing details to internal sales and underwriting partners.
- Manage your assigned workload to meet productivity standards and field office priorities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university for the duration of the internship (June 2027 - August 2027).
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer session.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
- Strong skills in Excel, mathematics, and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a diverse range of people.
- Strong time management and analytical skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks under demanding deadlines.
- High motivation, focus, and attention to detail.

- Modality: Hybrid.
- Locations: Wellesley, Massachusetts; Kansas City, Missouri; Hartford, Connecticut; Portland, Maine; or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
