About the role#
The Student Union, Inc. of SJSU is hiring a Student Intramural Sports Official to support campus recreation. You will work at the Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center to officiate contests and manage game operations. This role reports to the Intramural Sports and Camps Supervisor, Coordinator, and Student Supervisors.
What you'll do#
- Enforce rules for sports such as basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, kickball, floor hockey, dodgeball, and wiffleball.
- Record game information and communicate effectively with scorekeepers and supervisors.
- Manage game disruptions as they occur.
- Complete accurate incident and accident reports when necessary.
- Assist with team check-in and lead pre-game captains meetings.
- Handle event setup and tear down tasks.
- Attend all staff meetings, training days, and workshops.
What you'll need#
- Ability to learn, apply, and enforce intramural sport rules.
- Strong communication skills for game management.
- Capacity to maintain professional behavior with staff, players, and spectators.
- Ability to handle administrative tasks like reporting and event logistics.

- Location: Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center, San Jose, California.
- Employment type: Part-time.
- Compensation: 19.50 to 22.25 dollars per hour.
