About the role#
We are looking for a Civil/Structural Co-op Student to join our Transportation group in Edmonton for an 8-month term starting in Winter 2027. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team on local and regional projects including roadway, transit, rail, and bridge infrastructure. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Perform geometric design and 3D modeling with guidance from experienced practitioners.
- Support the development of design plans.
- Assist with the preparation of technical specifications and quantity estimates.
- Prepare engineering reports and technical studies, including basic calculations.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as structural, geotechnical, stormwater, and streetlighting to ensure design integration.
- Assist with project coordination, field work, and proposal preparation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters Engineering program.
- A basic understanding of general civil design concepts.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD or Synchro is preferred.
