About the role#
Stanley Consultants is seeking a Student Intern for Cost Estimating in Muscatine, Iowa. This role involves developing and checking cost estimates for various architectural, civil, industrial, institutional, federal, and utility projects. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Prepare material take-offs from planning documents or engineering drawings and review the work of others.
- Create detailed breakdowns of components and elements for systems and subsystems.
- Build submittal packages, including the basis of estimate, quantity backup, and cost data.
- Gather, evaluate, and document historical cost data to help develop future estimates.
- Reach out to vendors and suppliers to obtain current material costs.
- Prepare or review final Engineer's estimates.
- Apply knowledge of general construction practices and processes to your work.
- Collaborate with the estimating department to keep projects moving effectively.
- Attend office and off-site meetings to coordinate with clients and internal staff.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
