About the role#
The Media Research Center is looking for an intern to join the Free Speech America team. You will work to expose the suppression of conservative voices by Big Tech. This role involves monitoring platforms for censorship, researching bias, and contributing to public outreach efforts. It is a hands-on position for students and recent graduates who want to hold tech companies accountable.
What you'll do#
- Monitor social media platforms and websites to identify evidence of censorship or bias.
- Research and compile data regarding censorship trends and specific case studies.
- Write and edit articles that highlight censorship practices by Big Tech companies.
- Contribute to CensorTrack, which is the internal censorship database.
- Participate in departmental meetings and support ongoing media research projects.
What you'll need#
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to perform both qualitative and quantitative research.
- Familiarity with a variety of social media platforms.
- A clear interest in media accountability and free speech advocacy.
- Reliability and the ability to meet deadlines.
