About the role#
The Data Analysis Intern will help develop research projects using a large proprietary database to uncover government waste. You will work with our team to find data comparisons that inform the public conversation about spending at federal, state, and local levels. This is a full-time, remote position.
What you'll do#
- Work with the Deputy Policy Director to learn the scope of our available datasets.
- Analyze data to draw conclusions about public spending.
- Brainstorm and pitch comparative analyses that offer taxpayers new insights into how public money is spent.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- A desire to receive further training on data analytics tools.
- Ability to proactively report progress and pitch ideas in a remote environment.
- Enthusiasm for using data to tell surprising stories about public policy outcomes.
- Alignment with our vision to hold government accountable for tax dollars and steer spending toward founding principles.
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI is a plus.
