About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will work under the supervision of a Licensed Optician to assist customers with their visual needs. You will collaborate with retail and clinical teams to provide personalized advice and ensure that every customer receives eyewear tailored for comfort and function.
What you'll do#
- Interpret optical prescriptions and help customers understand their visual requirements.
- Provide guidance on frame and lens selection to ensure optimal fit and style.
- Use digital tools to perform dispensing measurements and conduct quality assurance checks on eyewear.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of frames, lenses, and current promotions.
- Manage after-care services and resolve customer complaints.
- Support contact lens recommendations and handle third-party billing.
- Coach team members to help them develop their optical skills.
- Contribute to daily operations, including inventory management and store cleanliness.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Opticianry post-secondary program.
- At least 2 years of previous customer service experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy retail environment.
- Reliability and flexibility to work retail hours.
- A friendly, outgoing, and confident demeanor.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Location & details#
- Location: 9010 Louis St. Laurent Ave. Unit 4, Milton, ON.
- Schedule: 30-35 hours per week, including weekends.
