About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will help customers select eyewear that fits their visual needs and personal style. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Optician to provide service and support in our retail location. This role involves collaborating with clinical teams to ensure our standards for quality and care are met.
What you'll do#
- Interpret optical prescriptions and explain visual needs to customers.
- Guide customers through the process of selecting frames and lenses.
- Use digital tools to perform accurate dispensing measurements.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on finished eyewear.
- Manage after-care services and resolve customer concerns.
- Support contact lens recommendations and current store promotions.
- Handle third-party billing and maintain store operations like inventory and cleanliness.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Opticianry post-secondary program.
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- A friendly and confident approach to building customer relationships.
- Ability to work retail hours, including weekends.
Location & details#
- Location: 4545 Kingston Road, Scarborough, Ontario.
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 24 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
