About the role#
South Jersey Industries is looking for an Internal Audit Intern to join our team. You will gain hands-on experience by performing financial, operational, and compliance audits across various departments. This role involves assessing business risks, testing existing controls, and verifying the efficiency of corporate operations. You will work under the guidance of our leadership team to learn how an internal audit function operates within the utility industry.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate current departmental procedures and controls to suggest improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
- Assist in identifying business priorities and risks.
- Prepare and submit detailed audit work papers for review.
- Help draft audit reports and follow up with departments to ensure recommended actions are implemented.
- Perform additional auditing tasks and projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in Accounting or Business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 360, including Visio and SharePoint.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and formulate solutions.
- Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- A motivated mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

- Location: Folsom, New Jersey.

- Employment Type: Full time.
- Compensation: $18 - $28 per hour.
