About the role#
This is a 4-month Finance Co-op role based at the Sobeys corporate office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. You will gain hands-on experience in financial operations, reporting, and forecasting within a large retail organization. You will work both independently and as part of a team to support budgeting and planning activities.
What you'll do#
- Build and update financial models in Excel to support budgeting and forecasting decisions.
- Extract and organize financial data from SAP to ensure accuracy and readiness for analysis.
- Track forecasting accuracy and identify insights to improve future financial plans.
- Use Excel and emerging AI tools to generate insights and recommend ways to strengthen forecasting processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Work with the category management team to ensure financial metrics are met.
- Collaborate with the operations team on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and an interest in building financial models.
- Experience working with data and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate insights.
- Interest in forecasting, financial planning, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to clearly present findings and collaborate with team members.
