About the role#
As a Logistics Student Intern, you will support the Supply Chain Services team with daily import and export operations. This role focuses on learning and professional development while assisting with documentation, compliance, and communication with partners. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Mobile, Alabama.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and organize documentation for import and export processes.
- Maintain updated and accessible physical and digital records.
- Monitor logistics processes, track deadlines, and update status reports.
- Assist in communication with suppliers, carriers, and customs brokers.
- Perform follow-ups to confirm the receipt of necessary documents.
- Create and update tracking spreadsheets and internal reports.
- Support the management of databases related to foreign trade.
- Research customs regulations and stay informed on relevant legal changes.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
- Assist in preparing for internal reviews and audits.
- Follow internal policies regarding quality and compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Relations, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- A foundational understanding of import, export, and logistics processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive, organized, and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and under supervision.
- A genuine interest in building a career in foreign trade and logistics.
- Previous academic or internship experience in foreign trade or logistics is a plus.
