About the role#
SKDK is seeking interns to support the political team during the Fall 2026 term. This paid, full-time position involves working on a wide range of Democratic candidate and issue advocacy campaigns. Interns will gain experience in strategic communications while assisting with research, writing, and campaign tracking.
What you'll do#
- Monitor daily news clips and track political advertisements.
- Research candidate and opposition backgrounds in key districts.
- Maintain overviews of competitive race landscapes.
- Track and report on campaign finance spending.
- Write and proofread persuasive ad copy, memos, and emails.
- Build decks and assist with client pitches.
- Organize and maintain records for scripts, research, polling, and invoices.
- Digest research to provide recommendations on message tone and content.
- Copyedit materials to ensure alignment with AP Style and message imperatives.
- Staff video shoots when available.
What you'll need#
- Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- Strong interest in campaigns, politics, and communications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong research, writing, and editing capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under deadlines.
- Ability to grasp complex subject matter quickly and communicate it clearly.
- Previous experience in writing or political and communications-intensive roles is preferred.

- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
