About the role#
SKDK is seeking a full-time, paid intern for the Executive Communications team in Washington, D.C. during the Fall 2026 term. This role supports a team that helps leaders develop narratives and communication skills for high-stakes environments, working with clients ranging from elected officials and philanthropists to executives at major brands.
What you'll do#
- Research persuasive content to support client communications.
- Write background memos and draft messaging on newsworthy issues.
- Create engaging slide decks and presentations.
- Copyedit and proofread materials to ensure alignment with tone and clarity.
- Prepare mock interview scenarios and assist during client coaching sessions.
- Assess communication strategies and translate complex subject matter into understandable language.
What you'll need#
- A desire to influence the news cycle for the better.
- Writing experience gained through political campaigns, public affairs agencies, government, or media organizations.
- Ability to manage time and responsibilities across multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Political Science, Business Administration, Journalism, or Marketing.
