About the role#
As a Pet R & D intern at Simmons Foods, you will work on projects that have a real impact on our organization. This summer program focuses on cross-functional collaboration and personal growth. You will balance a primary project with daily tasks to gain a clear understanding of our processes. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings to your team and senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Complete a project that solves a real-world challenge related to your field of study.
- Participate in daily operations to learn the fundamentals of our processes.
- Support team objectives and attend relevant meetings.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement by identifying ways to reduce waste.
- Ensure all work meets quality performance standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate concerns and improvement ideas regarding our operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree program in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and general computer skills.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- A willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours and lift at least 10 pounds.
- Ability to work in various temperatures and wear required personal protective equipment.
